About Taxco...

Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero, is the first royal mine of America, founded by Hernán Cortés in 1529 for the exploitation of silver deposits found by accident in the place.

The first mining estate built by the conqueror, called "Hacienda del Chorrillo", can still be seen today, starting with the aqueduct that can be seen at the north entrance, known as "Los Arcos".

Taxco preserved the style of a colonial age town: narrow, curved and cobbled streets and colonial-style houses, which gives it a particular style, adding the mild, pleasant and sunny climate.

Taxco is the place of birth of the so-called "Poinsettia", and the place where one of the best silver jewelery crafts in the world was developed.

Taxco preserves 96 historical buildings, among them one of the most beautiful churches in Mexico, the "Parroquia de Santa Prisca", built in 1758.

Taxco de Alarcón has been recognized as a "Magic Town" since 2002 and as a "City of Light" since 2009.

Near the city there are impressive natural places, such as the Cacahuamilpa Caves, one of the most impressive in the world, as well as the Pozas Azules and the Granadas waterfalls.

Taxco is therefore a place to enjoy the mix between nature, history, architectural originality to which is added regional cuisine, high-quality crafts and places for a good stay.
